Texas MUST be the most wildflower-covered state in the union. Every spring, Texas transitions from flat and dusty to being full of color! In open fields and along highway roadsides, an endless variety of wildflowers can be found representing every hue in the rainbow.
I spend wildflower season in long pants with bug spray and a stick (to ward off snakes) hiking these fields and roadsides to gather the bounty of blooming season. I search for vibrant colors and unique shapes. The flowers and greenery collected are then put in high-quality dessicant for up to 10 days – this is the best way to retain original color and shape when drying flowers. I then cast these delicate and stunning dried flowers into resin – jewelry, home decor, tables, etc.
In this section of the ResinBlume website, I will display my newest wildflower pieces. As Spring progresses toward Summer, new flowers come in bloom every couple of weeks, starting with Bluebonnets in late March to Wild Sunflowers in August – and I want to have a supply of them all!
